Hey guys! 😀
It’s currently nap time in the Brothers’ household, so I just wanted to hop on here to quickly share this cute little Christmas decor post with y’all! It really isn’t much of a “DIY” per se, but Gannon and I really enjoyed sprucing up this fun little space for the holidays.
At the end of November (no idea why it’s taken me so long to share this), Gannon and I were on our weekly Target trip (sometimes for things we actually need, most of the time just for fun 😉 ) and as we’re cruising through the Target dollar spot itching to buy ALL of the fun Christmas things the workers were still stocking the shelves with– a lightbulb went off! “Gannon’s teepee needs a Christmas make over,” I thought to myself. And just like that, a little thing I like to call “Gannon Beau‘s Christmas Clubhouse“ was born!
I’m curious, do you decorate your kiddo’s play space for the holidays? It’s seriously so adorable and so much fun to create, with cheap festive dollar spot finds like these…. why the heck not!?!
Target Dollar Spot Finds:
Now I will admit, I splurged on a few other fun items…. like this insanely cute tree topper Gannon and I both just HAD TO HAVE (also from Target, $35 – linked here) but since it’s something so neat that Aaron and I can enjoy with the kids for years to come, it was well worth $35 in my eyes! (It’s actually on sale now – of course! So if you love it like we did, now is the time to click “add to cart.”)
I also found a couple of fun items at IKEA while hubby and I were there Christmas shopping, like this wreath! (Okay maybe I went a tad bit crazy. But seriously! When you see the final result you won’t think I’m nuts – I hope.)
I started our project by lining the two front poles of the teepee with these cute and colorful chunky bulb LED lights (for only $3 in the dollar spot). Followed by securely fastening our fancy “SANTA STOP HERE” tree topper poking right up through the middle of Gannon’s teepee.
I decided on a super easy handmade wreath for the teepee’s main focal piece, and that $1 wooden letter G was the perfect item to add a little touch of personalization!
I tied our snow globe banner ($3) around the middle of the teepee to add some pizzazz. Then added our adorable Christmas pillows ($5 ea.) and some of our favorite Christmas books. You can’t forget the Christmas books!
Honestly, this has been Gannon’s favorite spot all month to cozy up and look at his books. Just seeing him so content in there, playing with his stuffies and looking at the pictures is enough to make your heart melt!
So what’s a Christmas Clubhouse, without a Christmas tree!? I picked up the cutest mini Christmas trees from Target ($10) for Gannon and his stuffed animal friends, and we decorated it with a single strand of the dollar spot LED Christmas lights and our leftover ornaments from his wreath!
Anywayyyy, I’ll quit babbling and show y’all some cute photos. By the time it was all said and done, I’m not sure which lit up more, the teepee, or Gannon’s sweet little face as he explored the end result!
