Hey guys!
While we’re in the spirit of all things home decor and baby’s room, I thought I’d share with you a quick little walk through of our older son’s nursery as well!
As an overly excited first time mom, the nursery planning began pretty early on and my indecisive self had a very difficult time committing and running with just one theme. My brain was a whirlwind of alllll the boy things and my decision making skills felt like that of a two year old. (I don’t know about your two year olds, but mine likes to point to each one of his options saying, “that one, that one, that one, that one!”) Needless to say, I quickly found myself browsing Pinterest saying, “that one, that one, that one, that one!” Therefore, Gannon’s nursery theme is a little less straight forward than Ledger’s room, and a bit more of a rustic woodland + cars & tractors + I-don’t-even-know mishmash.
However, as random as it is I think it still turned out really cute, so I thought I’d give it a share!
I will say, there are a couple fun sentimental facts about this room that I’ll sprinkle in here and there when we get to them 🙂
Also,
Random fact: Gannon’s bedroom is actually the largest room in our house! No fair, amiright! This spoiled little first born really hit the jackpot, because whoever built our cozy little home (back in the 70’s) for whatever reason made the “master bedroom” (with the French doors out to the back patio) slightly smaller than this room! *eye roll*. Obviously I wasn’t comfortable giving our newborn the bedroom with access to outside, so this little guy just happened to luck out. Ya gotta love old fixer uppers!
Anyways, without further ado, here’s a peek at our little first born’s nursery….
See something you like? I’ll do my best to link everything I can down below 🙂
Before:
I started off with creating a little “vision board” to help me see my random ideas and pieces I loved come together!
…..and then we got busy!
After:
Voila! ….and this is what we ended up with 🙂
As first time parents working on a bit of a budget, we decided to repurpose a few things that we already had for some of the detail decor pieces in the room. Bringing us to…
Fun Fact #1: These old license plates are actually repurposed decor from our wedding! Instead of numbering the tables at our reception, each table was a different state!
Fun Fact #2: When it came time for small knick knacks to fill up these shelves, I decided to cracked open Aaron’s box of childhood keepsakes and goodies! I found these small wooden cars that Aaron had actually made himself in middle school and thought how perfect to now display in his first born son’s room!
………..and just like that our sweet Gannon Beau’s nursery was complete!
