Hey guys! I’m so excited to FINALLY share with you our sweet baby boy’s nursery! My husband and I worked so hard on this room for the final 5 months of my pregnancy, and I couldn’t be more in love with how it turned out.
Bring on all things planes, trains, and cars!
We decided on a Vintage Industrial “Things That Go” theme, complete with a model train that chugs around the perimeter of the room! Mama had a vision, and Dada knocked it out of the park (as always)!
Now I’m beyond thrilled to finally sit back and enjoy this special space with our newest little addition! So without further ado, join me on a virtual tour of our little Ledger Luke’s nursery…..
See something you like? I’ll do my best to link everything possible at the end! 🙂
Before:
Before we get into the fun stuff, here’s a little peek at how this room looked BEFORE we worked a little magic.
Prior to any of the furniture, decorating, and details, we had some bigger construction projects to conquer. Our little home was technically only considered a 2 bedroom house with a smaller extra room lacking a closet, most would use it as an office or den. Although this extra room isn’t exactly large, it’s the perfect size for a small child’s bedroom (or a baby’s nursery)! We just needed to make a closet magically appear, no big deal.
Let the construction begin!
So what did we do? You guessed it! We made a closet appear.
If only it were that simple, am I right? What actually happened was, we took on this big ol’ home improvement project and my poor husband got stuck with a much loooonger honey-do list than we anticipated.
Once we started opening up the walls to add a closet, we quickly noticed a few massive problems. Funky wiring, cut and abandoned wires, and zero insulation staring right back at us. We’re lucky this place hasn’t burned down…. but that’s the fun of a fixer upper for ya! No project can be a little project. And so, we had no choice but to rip open ALL the walls to rewire the electrical and add insulation to our precious new baby’s soon-to-be sanctuary.
Lots of busy weekends, hard work, and home depot trips later….. the walls were sealed up and insulated, the electrical was safely rewired, a perfect little closet was created, and I FINALLY had myself a beautifully blank slate to step in and let the decorating fun begin!
