Hey guys!
Oh my gosh, for a while there I thought I was never going to get around to writing another blog post again! Phew! I’m glad to be back. Things have been pretty crazy around here in preparation for our little man on the way. I’m already 25 weeks pregnant with this sweet little rainbow of ours and this pregnancy is literally FLYING by. I can’t even believe how fast it’s going! In just two more weeks I’ll be in the third trimester and officially entering the home stretch! Pregnancy honestly goes by a lot faster when you have a toddler keeping ya on your toes all day long.
I’m so grateful to be carrying this sweet boy and I’m beyond thrilled to meet him. I’m so excited to see what he’ll look like, and learn his little personality. I can’t wait to know exactly who he is, and who he’ll become. However, I can’t help but find myself wanting time to slow down just a bit. I love being pregnant so much. Feeling our sweet baby kicking, punching, and rolling around is such a neat feeling. It’s the greatest feeling. A feeling I thank God for giving me the opportunity to experience and I just want to be sure to soak in every moment of this pregnancy that I can before our perfect little boy joins us out here in all of this beautiful chaos.
Not to mention my GanMan! The thought of my silly, smart, sweet little first born turning two shortly after this baby arrives brings tears to my eyes! How could he possibly be turning two already? How could we possibly be on the brink of expanding our family to FOUR already!? Time really is such a thief…. but I better stop myself here before my emotions take y’all on a wild ride, because well, HORMONES!
So let’s have some fun!
I’ve decided to share a little preggo survey I stumbled across, along with my answers to some of the great questions I’ve been asked by you guys! Let’s get started😊
How far along are you? 25 Weeks!
Baby is as big as a: Papaya, a head of cauliflower, a bunny rabbit….. take your pick! Almost 14 inches long and weighing in around 1.68 pounds!
Total weight gain: Ugh, this question sucks. Next!
Gender: Another perfect little man!
Cravings?
First Trimester: Top Ramen… I know, not a cool craving. Kind of embarrassed to admit that one lol.
Second Trimester: Slurpees/Taco Bell freezes, eggo waffles with peanut butter, everything bagels with jalapeño cream cheese, ice cream………… basically total junk! I’ve gotta fight the urge or I’m going to gain 1200 pounds with this pregnancy. Gannon was my Mexican food baby and I guess this is my junk food baby🙈
Stretch marks? None, thank Jesus🙌🏼 Praying it stays that way🙏🏼🤞🏼
Belly button in or out? Still in… my belly button never popped with Gannon and I was actually kinda bummed about that lol. I think baby bumps with an outie are so cute, but my belly button just tends to go flat once I’m nearing the end.
Movement? Yep! And I adore every kick, roll, and jab😍
Sleep: ….is amazing as long as I have my pregnancy pillow!
Wedding ring on or off: On💍
Maternity clothes? Yep, leggings = LIFE at this point and maxi dress season can’t come soon enough😅
Happy or moody: Not gonna lie, I had my moody moments in the beginning, but honestly, I think that just stemmed from the fear/worry of losing another baby. I’ve mostly been beaming with joy just as I was when pregnant with our GanMan.
Labor signs? Nope, and we prefer to keep it that way for a little while longer.
Miss anything? Not really. A glass of red wine would be nice, but I’d take being pregnant with this little man over that any day.
Best moment this week: Baby Boy’s dresser was delivered! That’s been fun! I love seeing pieces of his nursery slowly come together.
Will the boys be sharing a room? No. We weren’t sure about the idea of a newborn and a two year old sharing a room. We’re hoping to avoid them disturbing each other’s sleep as much as possible, granted the new baby will be sleeping in a bassinet in our bedroom until around 6 months, but still. We have an extra room, so why not use it! Perhaps they can share a room when they get a bit older if they want to…. can you say, bunk beds?
What is baby’s nursery theme? We haven’t decided how much of this nursery we want to share before baby’s born yet. With Gannon, we waited until we brought him home to reveal his nursery. You’re more than welcome to make guesses! Maybe I’ll cave if someone guesses correctly. Drop your guess in the comments below! I promise to create a fun nursery reveal post when the time is right😁
Does baby have a name? He does not. Currently we have a few on the list but we’re no where near ready to commit to anything. Aaron and I have proven to have a difficult time choosing a name for our little ones. It’s a big commitment! We’ll most likely need every minute of this pregnancy to decide and nothing is set in stone until we see him. So just like Gannon, his name will be announced after birth. Again, feel free to drop any of your name suggestions below! We’d love to hear them!
Will you choose another G name? Not intentionally. Who knows what we’ll end up with, but it doesn’t have to start with a G just because Gannon’s does.
Do you plan on getting an epidural? I will most likely end up getting an epidural. I did with Gannon, and I have no problem doing it again. I do, however, find it incredibly impressive when woman give birth naturally. If you’ve given birth naturally, major props to you mama!! I’d love to try, but just as I did with Gannon, I’ll hold out for as long as I can and make that decision in the moment. Giving birth to your baby is an insanely difficult, amazing, and overwhelmingly special moment regardless of how you do it.
Are you nervous for labor now that you’ve done it before and you know what to expect? Surprisingly, I’m not! I’m kind of excited for it as crazy as that sounds lol. My labor and delivery with Gannon was much harder than I expected it to be (if you’re interested in reading Gannon’s birth story you can find it here), but it was beautiful nonetheless and all of the pain, tears, and throwing up is totally worth it when you meet your sweet baby for the first time.
How many kids do you want? Definitely 3… possibly 4! We’re playing it by ear right now, but this little guy will definitely not be our last. (God willing!)
Were you hoping for a girl this time around? Haha, I had a feeling people would think this. I suppose it’s probably natural for people to assume that when a couple already has a baby of one gender, they’d hope for the next to be the opposite. But in reality, we were thrilled to find out we’ll be welcoming another boy! I’m basically obsessed with being a boy mom! To be honest, after our miscarriage, we didn’t really care what our baby’s private parts were. We were just praying for a healthy baby. But I’ll let you in on a little secret……. if we absolutely had to choose what gender we wanted next, Aaron and I were both leaning toward another boy. We knew we didn’t want this to be our last baby and with Gannon and this baby being so close in age, we thought it’d be so perfect to have another boy! Plus we can use the term, The Brothers Brothers!
What symptoms have you experienced with this pregnancy? I never get breast tenderness, morning sickness, or any of those pregnancy symptoms commonly first thought of, however, the peeing frequently is REAL! Also, now that we’re getting further along there’s a solid 50% chance I’m going to tinkle if I sneeze🙈
Has this pregnancy been the same or different from your pregnancy with Gannon? Pretty much the exact same😊
Are your fears of losing this baby gone now that you’re in the second trimester? Good question! I think after experiencing something like miscarriage, those fears and negative thoughts are inevitable. As I entered the second trimester I noticed my fears of miscarriage morphing into random terrible thoughts of stillbirth, but honestly, I know our little boy is strong and I’m reassured every single time I feel him moving around in there. I refuse to let our miscarriage steal my joy in this pregnancy, I’ve put it in God’s hands. So my short answer is… I’m not worried anymore😊
How long did it take you to get pregnant again after your miscarriage? First try. I miscarried on August 7th, had one period at the beginning of September, and was holding a positive pregnancy test on September 30th. We’ve been very blessed. I know that it doesn’t always happen that way and my heart goes out to every couple that struggles with conceiving.
How are you preparing Gannon for his new role as Big Brother? This is another great question! We watch the big brother episodes of Gannon’s favorite show, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, and I bought him a big brother book as well. We talk about little brother often and I’m quite certain Gannon know’s something is up. How much he understands I’m not entirely sure on, but he tends to understand things better than we give him credit for and he points to my belly and says “baby” all the time! It’s basically the cutest thing ever. I know it’s going to be a big change for him and it’s definitely going to be a top priority to make sure he’s not feeling left out or less important than the new baby. He’s still our baby too and I honestly know deep down that he’s going to love having a brother so so much. I’m actually very excited for him!
Are you nervous for the transition to two kids? Of course! Who wouldn’t be! It’s a big change, but I know it’ll all work out. The tough days don’t last forever and we’ll find our new normal. If any of you moms of multiples have any tips for us, please drop them below in the comments!
Now for some bump photos…
